Vinyl-terror & -horror is a collaboration between Camilla Sørensen (b.1978) and Greta Christensen
(b. 1977), both graduated from the Royal Danish Art Academy in Copenhagen in 2007/2008
The core of our collaboration is sound and sculpture. In short, our work is about breaking down
systems and building new ones.
Our sculptural material - aside from a vast use of hi-fi equipment and technology - consists of
familiar objects whose form and function are altered and reworked into new contexts.
In our installations, we often create a dark, post-apocalyptic atmosphere infused with moments of
absurd humor. In the absence of a human body, mechanical sculptures are imbued with human
traits, performing specific actions and are linked together in a narrative sequence - supported by an
atmospheric cinematic soundtrack.
The sound brings emotions and moods that amplify the sculptures' functions. The auditory and
visual elements are inseparable.
Besides our installation work, which is primarily shown in art institutions, we give concerts at
music festivals, compose music and create permanent installations in public spaces.
